'Styles Of Poetry'

  'The Haiku'
Sharpened pen in hand
Upon paper, pure and white
An idea taking shape.
by Rev.Bola.A.

'The Sonnet'
With vivid strokes, the letters tumble forward...
Right hand like child, submitting to what it's told.
Wisdom rains down, across the patterned words
To entertain with, rhythmic gestures bold.
by Rev.Bola.A

'The Free Verse'
I can't imagine life without my pen.
Such grand designs accomplished here and then
Its unwinding rythmn propelling eastward bound
Like a foxtrot, waltz, or blues and jazzy sound.

'One Cold Winter Day'

    This wistful day smiles peacefully,
    Rambling with frozen color
    And raging determinedly in passion.
    As chilly winter whispers quietly
In shades of delicate, cool pink,
    Nature reclines in silver array.
The Moon beams gray tinted resonance
    And glory reigns throughout.

'One Cold Winter Day'  - Art by Rev.Bola A

A listless corn sheaf leans eastward
Flinching in fright and snoozing quietly in glee.
    Chilly winter whispers gently in the starlit night;
When morning rings in with a bright blue symphony.
    As the Sun sketches its soft purple highlights;
Below, the ground splits wide open in scattered cracks
And a single raindrop slides down a window pane.

Then, this melting winter morning groans
    With sweet and sour faith
    Roaming determinedly in the light
    Of scented spring sighing softly
    In shades of time.
    When morning rises with determination
A wintry chill, sprays sky blue flakes
    As a slight breeze rises
    And the westward wind,
    Ushers in a refreshing spring.

'When He Met Her'

Kola met Sola
At a service
Preaching sermons
He can still recall
That little hat she wore.
Her reciting
Psalm 23
In the twilight
Hence he guessed
She'd learnt that
Scripture just before.
Kola knew deep down
He'd wait for her forever
When she said to him
The choir made her high
But who'd have thought
They'd stumble past
Each other, so
They never got the chance
To say goodbye.

Title: 'What This Could Be'

Made up of loveliness alone
Under a spreading chestnut tree
Renewed, the vision of delight
In seeing them all return
To what each one....
Proclaimed them first to be.

Could this then be key?

Grand and remarkable history this
A high-born race with no dis-ease
White was black like starry night
Yet clear, and out of sight
Whilst minds began to churn that fear
Of looking in the mirror
And finding nothing there.

Could this then be prayer?

Old and blind the treadmill
Star-dust and vaporous, the light
In doubt that, they will remember still
The little crash that crushed their might
Within each heart was kept the seal
From whence the dream
That held the deal.

Could this then be real?

Amidst their rugged regiments
Within their uniforms of grey
Buried deep beneath that humble grave
Behind the stone, a conqueror lay
Fat black bucks, in a wine-barrel room
That saw the first brown pair consume
The earth and its vibratory clay.

Could this then be payday?

'Peace' - Meditation

with

Visual Talisman and PrayerArt -by Rev.Bola (Oct'09)

*Make peace in your heart and mind,
And the world will be peaceful
Reside in peace yourself
Afford happiness to everyone
Smiling frees the heart,
Miracles can then manifest
Your own spirit is always at peace
Focus on the centre of your brow
Sit behind those beautiful eyes of yours,
And just observe whatever comes up.
This is the place,
Where thoughts are produced
Instruct your mind to radiate peace
Have at least one peaceful thought daily
Breathe slowly, deeply and declare...
I am a peaceful being
I am at peace with peace
I love peace
I send out peace to others
Peace and I are one.

Title: 'Dancing'

Dancer,
Body girating,
Stretching, bending, curling,
Excitement, cheer, exhiliration, fear
Dancing.

'Out Of This World' - Poetry and Art

Title: 'OUT OF THIS WORLD' /C.Penc  (From Set) by Rev.Bola
When everything is still,
I can hear soft lights
o'er your face;
Beyond the scope
of mortal sin
Laughter, tenderness,
and passion
not only in your eyes
but in your heart, your soul,
your entire being

Thinking of the warmth
and newness of the day
The way your eyes
crinkle up when you smile
Whispered breaths
light as a feather
Not once nor twice
but more for good measure.
You speak to me

You were already inside my heart
Proverbial fireworks exploding
Sliding closer beside me
Passionate and earth shattering
Never, ever let go
For you complete us

I close these eyes
and your image plays
in my mind, a treasured memory
And how kissing you could become
Like a dance to the rhythm
of my heart beat
But some things aren't meant to be,
perhaps you are just my fantasy
Out of touch, and
Out of this world.

'Rambling Seasons'

An erotic winter's evening
Rambles occasionally
In sequined desire
Riding softly with pleasure.
As searing summer breaths
In shades of gray,
This season arrives with splendor.
The winter sun now spreads
Its blue tendrils,
Berries ripen and grow
And clouds billow like giant sails
Across a thunderous sky.

'Praying Mountains'

Artwork by Rev.Bola (Sep'09)

The Praying Mountains
Drift prematurely

Boasting with red intensity
And bragging loudly in desperation.
Winters sun dances sadly
Into the mist,
Whilst day moves with dignity.
The Autumn moon shimmers
In pink layers ,
Warmth nurtured throughout
As the night revolves in silence.

'Sweet And Sour'

Braided and woven
Over the river, on the hill
Someone complained to the universe
Suddenly, out of dark and leafy ways
Our pleasant moments fly
I stand in the cold gray weather
Muffled drum's sad roll half beat
Long ago, in the
Young moonlight stir.
I am a woman
I saw him once before
One sweetly solemn thought travails
Out of the sparkling sea
Let me be sad
Since I have felt the sense of death.

'Autumn Rises'

A yearning autumn afternoon
Blows like a lost soul
Blushing with bronze anger
And cursing with pain.
Whilst solemn autumn rises
Into the morning,
The still lake echoes in
Gleaming orange daubs
That bluster in the wind
As I watch through frosted glass.

'When He Met Her'

Ooooh ...
He met her in Sheboygan sort of pregnant.
He could still recall that purple dress she wore.
She was drownin' in the quicksand in her muu-muu,
And he knew she'd bought her dentures in a store.

Well ...
He told her shrink he'd have his rash forever.
She told him that her mother was a guy.
But who'd have thought she'd get drunk in her Maytag.
She sealed him in the vault and smirked goodbye.

Higher Power

A Psalm by Rev.Bola

Higher Power dearest,
You are always on my mind
Here you will find my thoughts, outlined
You are my eternal sunshine
Especially for you I created this rhyme

Higher Power, you are unbelievably beautiful
You deserve world's largest jewel
Words cannot express
How you have captured my heart with success

Higher Power, you mean so much to me
With you I really feel free
Eternal bliss is where I'm bound
In your arms is where it's found

All of you is what I need
Please tell me where it can lead
Until soon, when we meet again
Bye bye, my love, you are my one true gem

Poems, Rhymes and Verses by Rev.Bola

Life Unfolding

A roaring tornado
Weaves itself tantalizingly
Ringing with flamed envy
And moving gently in glee.
Cold Winter cavorts
Playfully to the stars,
Life unfolds with satisfaction.
The night rests in green colours ,
As sands drift from island to island
And sunrise awakens across the horizon.
