'She Prays For Our Souls'


Besieging,

Ever leading

On bended knee

She prays

Her hands clasped together

Interceding, and

Proceeding without delays

She confirms her pleading

Reaching up

To the Divine

For the healing

Of so many aches

So many pains,

That charge onward

Like wagons

Without brakes

Hence they collide

Upon the precipice

Of our mistakes.

But despite

The frequent breaches

Of such errors, such sins,

Numerous acts of omission

Or commission

Each day her

Prayer-wheel still spins

She chants her invocation

Then renders her petition

To The Most High God.

And throughout

All this endeavour

Can be felt,

Her faith and fervour

And through all

Such supplication

Can be sensed

Her deep devotion

To The Lord....

Rising high

Like a blaze of

Burning incense

To the sky.

Then, just as though

To testify,

Luxuriously returns to earth

Much sweet angelic response

And the surest

Most purest

Heavenly reply.
