'Sneinton - My Home Town'

As the morning

Twilight wanders forth.

She's hugged by

Carlton to her North.

Offering peace by

Word of mouth

Embraced by Colwick

To her South.

In sunny times

And even rain

Toward her South-west,

Is Meadow Lane. 

Meanwhile amidst

Such joyous feast

Sits Bakersfield

To her East.

Not least shall be

Her brightest load

The district's main

Connecting road.

Raised to prosper

And to prevail

Is the loveliness

Of Sneinton Dale.

Most famous for

Her green windmill

  That stands atop

Of Sneinton Hill -

Is that wonder called

The Science Center

Where all inquiring

Minds can enter.

Located at

King Edward Park,

A boarding school

Did history mark.

The birthplace too

Of William Booth

The Salvation Army's 

Great man of truth.

Esteeming the community,

With high regard

Is the Hermitage center,

On Sneinton Boulevard.

Where, costumes for

Carnival get made,

In readiness for the year's

Festival and summer parade.

Where arts, crafts and talents

Get creatively displayed.

Firmly a top

Trent road is perched

The grandeur of

St Christopher's Church.

Locals can meet

In her community hall

Where events are available,

 Free for all.

Title: 'Character'

What the world
Thinks a woman is?
That's her 

'Reputation'.

Sadly,

 It's so often based
On false accusation,
Prejudice 

And supposition.

Upon further 

Investigation
What's been found,
She really is?
That's her 'Character'.

For it's her heart's
Atunement 

And intention,
That truly matter.
(Hence, the question.)

At any rate
Though it is fate,
Which presents
Her circumstances,

Love still requires
That a woman
Take her chances,
To determine her 

Character.

In that way
The seeds of
Her wisdom 

May scatter.

If here and now
 She were to somehow,
Receive an unexpected
And sudden impact,
How would she react?

How would she respond?
If the truth be known,
Character is a diamond
That scratches a little,
Every other stone.

Yet never
Has there been
A magic wand,
Rock or crystal
More powerful
Than a woman with
 A strong backbone.

 We each need
A mind and will

We call our own.
(To fulfill)

Character
Is a victory,
Not a mere gift.
 Underneath 

This mystery
Lies the lesson
To uplift.

Character,
Like a kettle
Once mended,
Always requires 

Repairs.

And sin,
Like a habit
Once transcended,
Always requires 

Prayers.

As the story goes,
A person shows
What she is;
By what she does
With what she has,
Not whom she knows.

Self-determinism
Is fine
When tempered 

With self-control.

Misfortune will decline,
When recognition
Of God and soul,
Becomes the ultimate

Human goal.

I am feeling
A little better today,
For more of this kind
Of improvement, 

I pray.
 
But nigh, 

By the honeyed
Chorus of suffering,
No more will I find
Myself a- torturing.
 
Elated by Christ,
Who created the light
My heart once again,
Has captured delight.
 
Granted probation,
From woes and fears
I vow for now,
To dry my tears.
 
My pledge to happiness,
I hereby embrace
With abundant joy,
The sorrows replace.

'ACTION'

Let wisdom ring,

Its message high.

Never let precious

Moments, pass you by.

The only real 

Failure in life,

Is the failure to try.

Have a little fun

Before you die.

Ideas are,

Funny little things.

They don't work,

Unless you do!

Lovingly stretch those

Exquisite wings.

And beat the odds,

To encounter your cue.

All the so-called,

"Secrets of success"

Will not work unless,

You are willing,

To explore each avenue;

And choose the best.

Indeed success,

Is all about

The follow through.

A true teacher

Does not preach

Her own beliefs,

Until she does so

By her action.

Getting others to

Turn over new leafs,

Requires equal amounts

Of one's own,

Practice and participation.

Yes! Action speaks

Louder than words.

But not nearly as often.

Naturally kind acts,

Are preferred.

So even, the most

Stubborn hearts 

Can soften.

If you don't

Climb the mountain,

You can't 

View the plain.

If you don't,

Drink the water

From the fountain,

Then you must drink it

From the rain.

Remember, great love

And great achievement,

Involve great risk.

Hence be, 

Sure to make,

Your own 'back-up' disc.

All necessary care

Must you take 

To avoid loss

And heartbreak.

Only those 

Who do nothing,

Will incur no mistake.

A little imagination,

Is all it will take.

Some people grin 

And bear it;

Others smile and do it.

Some people like

To hear it,

Others like 

To declare it.

Anything not attempted,

Remains impossible.

But, if you

Believe in yourself,

Everything is possible!

A real go-getter,

Can stop any

Dream from sinking.

We all work 

With one 

Infinite power,
Hour after hour.
It beams 

Down on us
Like a celestial 

Light shower.

The Secret,
Is in the 

Law of Attraction.
Cause, effect, 

And attendant 

Affirmation.

Full circle action,
With its equal or
Opposite reaction.
Like a chain 
Of endless 

Manifestation.

As quick 

As a wink,
You become 

And Attract 

What you think.
That's the missing link.

With Cosmic accuracy,
Each thought you hold
Sends forth its own

Magnetic frequency
And accompanying 

vibration.

Whatever goes on
In your mind,

Always follows 

you behind.

So precise, 

Is what you

Are attracting;
It's exactly what
You are thinking!

No thought 

Ever gets swept 

Under the carpet.
Thus you are like
A cosmic magnet
 Electrical dynamite;
Propelling like 

To attract like.

When you 

Think about what 

You don't want
You attract more
Of the same.

Unaware that your
Thoughts and 

Experiences
Get drawn together
Like moths 

To a flame.

They are 

Inseparable.
That's simply 

The nature
Of the game.
There is really
No one else 

To blame.

Thought does 

Equal creation.
And if the thought
Is attached to
A powerful emotion,
It speeds up it's

Mass production.

You attract your
Dominant thoughts.
It's simple enough,
So why not 

Connect the dots?

With a keen 

Observation,
Some awareness 

And motivation,
You can raise
Your own vibration.

Those who speak
Most of sickness,
Experience sickness.
Those who think
Most of weakness,
Experience weakness.

Those who speak
Most of health,
Experience health.
And those who think
Most of wealth,
Experience wealth.

Those inclined
The most to worry
Often end up 

Feeling sorry.

And, it's those that
Often think of peace
For whom the
Wonders never cease.

Likewise, 

When push
Comes to shove,
It's those who
Often speak of love,
That receive 

Untold blessings 

From above.

To first be 

Considerate,
And then deliberate.
That's The Secret...

  'LIFE'

Life is like
A game of cards.
The hand you are dealt
Is determinism;
The way you play it 
Is free will.

 
The alternative path, 
Is to act on a whim or
Repeatedly chase,
After a thrill.

She's a wise woman
Who does not grieve
For the things
Which she has not,
But rejoices for those
Which she has.

  

She prefers to remember,
Good times she forgot
Than cling to,
Her painful past.

In general 

You will find,
Success is a 

State of mind.
'They can because
They think they can' 

Well, it's been that way,
Since time began!

 
There are only 

Two ways to 

Live your life.
One is as though,
Nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though,
Everything is a miracle.

 
Even when you're 
Subjected to ridicule
By comparison the,
Risk is minuscule.

If you want success,
Begin thinking 
Of  yourself 

As a success.

You might also
Want to consider
The amount of time 

You allow for rest.

You manifest

You in life.
You attract 

What you get,
Be it happiness 
Or strife.

Notice how you are
The sole creator
Of your reality.

Who is creating
This moment now?
Is God not the one
With all the know-how?

What is really
Happening right now?
What are you truly
Ready to allow?

 
Your life may be dry
Like an old well.
It may seem

Been through hell.
But dig a little deeper,

Of new energy.

 
Personal awareness plus
Being kind to yourself,
Are often the 

Perfect remedy. 

So relax!
All the information

For our need

To support each other.

Your inner child

Is the main guide

For your inner master.

When your worlds collide

She can help you

Heal much faster.

Relaxation is the

Only way we can prove

Our trust, in the Universe.

Confrontation and the

Over eagerness to move,

Can make our lives

Seem disperse.

Trust, is the

Universe’s way

Of saying, "I am with you";

Twenty-four hours a day

Relaying, what's been hidden,

From your view.

Desires are the

Souls expectations,

For the future.

Always check the heart

For hidden motivations,

Underneath the culture.

How you think
